How to fix Google Play services update problem
Google Store Apk Download
I use the free version of Fake GPS from IncorporateApps. I followed their FAQ's instruction to downgrade Google Play services. And it worked..for an hour. Then my phone automatically updated Google Play services to the latest version again.
So, beside the steps in Incorporate's FAQ, I had to disable system software update too. Below is the steps I did. Several hours now and my Google Play services still stays at version 12.6.85 ! (knocking on wood !)
My phones are Samsung J7+, Samsung J7 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. No root. The menu will be slightly different on different phones.
Disable 'Find my device'
- go to Settings > (search 'device admin') > uncheck 'Find My Device'
- if there are other things under, uncheck all of them
- you can come back to enable them afterwards
2. Download 2 apps to get information about your phone
- Droid Hardware Info
- Play Services Information
3. Disable auto updates Free tekken 3 game download for pc.
Google Play Store
- Open Play Store > settings > Auto-update apps, select 'Do not auto-update apps'
Software auto update
- Xiaomi: settings > (search 'updater') > System app updater > Auto updates, select 'don't update'
- Samsung: settings > Developer options > turn off 'Auto update system'
4. Uninstalll Google Play services update
- open Play Services Information app
- take a screen capture. Will need the version number later.
Google Play Services Apk Download Kindle Fire
- tap 'app info'
-- Samsung: tap 3 dots on the upper right corner > uninstall updates
-- xiaomi: tap uninstall updates at the bottom of the screen
5. Clear all old data of Google Play services
- tap 'storage'
-- samsung: tap 'manage storage' > clear all data
-- xiaomi: tap 'clear data' at the bottom of the screen
6. Download the older version of Google Play services
The version to use is 12.6.85 from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/google-play-services-12-6-85-release/
- select the correct variant to download for your phone. Open Droid Hardware Info app and look for 3 things
: architecture - 'System' tab > Instruction Sets
: Minimum version - 'Device' tab > OS Version
: Screen DPI - 'Device' tab > under 'Display' > software density
- compare the digits before '-' in the () with the digits in the () of the version before we uninstall the update. (the screen capture in step 4)
- download the correct variant and install the update
7. Clear Google Play services data again (the same as in step 5)
Hope it helps !
