Busy Busy Beaver is a small platformer that features an even smaller castor who sets off on the casual adventure of renovating his home. Justin, the beaver, needs help with gathering lumber and that’s where you step in.

As casual as it can be

Busy Busy Beaver features 30 levels, each one becoming increasingly tougher and make up for a relaxed game time. The controls are easy to master, and maneuvering the beaver through the levels will be a cinch.

Visually, the game is light in every aspect of its retro-simplistic design but that’s alright, it’s a game built in 48 hours during a game jam. Looking at it from that perspective, it’s easy and fair to say that it looks and plays better than a whole lot of indie games that share the same trajectory and took way more time to build.

Most of the time, in Busy Busy Beaver you’ll be jumping from one place to another, muchin’ and gathering wood and then bringing it back to your place for proper furnishing use. On other occasions, apart from instinctively chopping lumber, you need to be careful what you chop because if you’re not, you can easily trap yourself.

Doing so, you will have to restart the level. Busy Busy Beaver is built like a casual game, but it’s also there as a lightweight brain teaser. Moreover, it requires a good deal of platforming skill, especially on levels in which platforms appear and disappear, and the risk of getting impaled on spikes is real.

Totally worth it if you want to kick back and relax

On a closing note, Busy Busy Beaver is a game that’s well suited for that moment when you have a few minutes in your day to spare. Just a few, it’s a short game.
